Do you trust Google PR now?

I really had a great laugh with the recent drastic fall of Google PR. Well, I am not laughing because many blogs has their blog deranked (mine was affected anyway), but because the way now Google is ranking our blogs. Obviously our Google is not doing a very accurate measurement anymore. When a PR no longer accurately describes a blog's popularity, many of us (advertiser and bloggers) will turn away from using the PR meter for blogs judgement.

Well, let me share my own experience as an advertiser. What do I look out for
  • Sites with high commentors (shows me that there are some blogging interaction and visits)
  • Interesting outlook of a blog
  • Interesting write up of postings
As an advertiser, I find it rather silly to pay lots of money to advertise myself in
  • High PR blogs with no one even bother to visit or read
  • High PR blogs with no interaction (between bloggers)

So, with this, I guess it time for our dear Google to retire for the time being. Till you improve, we might consider to accepting you into our world again…

Luv,
Blogger aka. Advertiser

If I had my child to raise over again

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
Id care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes, and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more field, and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I’d be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

The Secret DVD

Have u watch this movie called The Secret ? It was a great movie, a top ranking in US and most sought by many, and even being played by many big companies. It is a documentary like movie, whereby it features about how to become successful, how to achieve the dreams that you want, or how to get to live the life that u have always dream of. For me, it is more like a “mind control and manifest” kind of thing.

Well, for most of us, with or without realizing, it happens to us all the time in our life. Imagine, u are in tthe in midst of seraching for a car park in a crowded car park, and just becoz u believe there should be one for you right at the entrance, and true enough, there is one right in front of your eyes. They called it the “Law of Attraction”. U attract what you want into your life by imagine it hard, then your though will manifest you to put action into getting it. I watched this DVD 5 times. Must be pretty interesting, isnt it ?

SMILE

Not everyone in this world is fortunate to be born perfect and happy. Even a lucky and happy person can have his down time, when sometimes goes wrong in his life or when he lost his loved ones. There is nothing in life that we can avoid, however we can choose on how we react and make things feels better for us. It is important to share our thoughts and feelings and with some simple steps here, we can lead a happier day.

1. Always be kind to yourself. Allow self forgiveness and be your own best friend. Play a little game by imagine you are talking to a little child, whom is yourself. Say kind and praise this little child for everything he has achieve or done in life.

2. Look up, raise your head and lift your eyes, even when you feel depressed.

3. Practice gratitude. Focus on things that you already have and make a list in your journal for things you are grateful for.

4. Smile all time, and tell yourself everything in life happens for a reason.

5. Watch something funny and read jokes when you are feeling down.

6. Share all the above with people who need them.

Still Moments

Each of us need some quiet time space for ourselves, so do our little energetic child. We can’t deny that children learn a lot through play. However it is equally important to balance our children’s time with both stimulating activities and quiet activities. According to research done, creating a calm environment to little children provides them an opportunity to stay focus and allow ideas to flow in while promoting growth and development. However, being quiet and having quiet time is rare in the world of children at home or in school.

By indulging into a quiet time, I feel that I can put the world around me on hold, while having my mind and spirit refreshed. With a clearer and calmer mind, we can think and solve things better. Here are the ways to make most of quiet times:

1. Schedule some quiet time for yourself. Either wakes up before anyone else at home wakes up.

2. Be still during quiet time. It can be very difficult as there are so many things waiting to be done each moment, so try set about 15mins a day for some quiet moments, like reading.

3. Do breathing meditation. Just close your eyes, slowly breathe in and out, and think of nothing else.

I am glad I found this while writing this article. Please take moment and enjoy a quiet moment with John Hinson - “
A Still Moment”.

Personal Touch

Often in blog, we visit each other’s website, either friends we know and met before, or new friends from our old friends, or new found friends that have the same interest thru blog world.

Previously i was using only daily email among friends. Weakness of using emails, is that we often delete our old mails to make space for new mails, and it becomes messy and uncategorized.

Must really salute or thanks to the one who invented this wonderful tool called “blog” as by visiting each other’s site, can get to update what’s happening in that friend that we care. and it also let us categorize our post, or rather daily thoughts nicely. It serve also as a nice dairy and our sweet memories.

However, when i visit a blog, first thing that i want to know is knowing more about the writer, at least name or how he or she looks like (it just give me a personal feeling that at least i can imagine who i am writing to). However some writers prefer to keep their identity ( maybe to create curiosity from people who are curious like me?) Regardless which way, i respect them for its their personal choice .

Disconnected, Disconnected, Disconnected

This was what happened to me yesterday.

Comment, comment, comment on blogs.

Alamak, Click, click, click, no respond.

Meet a friend for a cup of coffee.

Reach home, Click, click, click, no respond.

Report to my internet service provider. Sleep.

Wake up, Click, click, click, no respond.

Prepare and ate dinner.

Click, click, click, no respond.

Went to bed……zzzzzzzzzzzzz………….

Can you imagine how frustrating I was? Strong cell reception but with no data for internet. I almost wanna visit the internet cafe but how I just hate the smokey and noisy area.

What a day it is^!

Tags

When I first learned about tag, I feel it is a very tedious task because of the links involved. What I did is to check out the links from the source page and copy paste one by one onto my tag. It was only later that I discover the short cut to copy a tag and have been love receiving tags then (since tag is a chance for me to increase my backlinks *~*). This is what I did:

1. On the normal view page where I read my blog, I’ll just highlight them with my mouse from *Start Copy Here* till *End Copy Here* (including picture if there is any) .
2. Paste it onto my “Visual” tab on my write page (all the links will be automatically copied)
3. Add my name to the list if there is any

The only part that is tedious now is to find the “right” recipients, try to find out if they have done the tag (if they categoised their posting, then it is easier for me). Then I’ll type and manually insert these blog links. Not sure if what I am doing is the fastest way, do let me know if u got any better way to manage your tags.

Blog or Hop

Don’t know whats wrong with me, I have this bad habit hopping some other sites, update my blogs, wander here, then *ding dong* here and there. It is only I realised that I am suppose to update my own blog. By then, I am probably too tired to type or it is too late to blog.

See the importance of task prioritise our job? It takes a lot of discipline too.

Dine or Blog

Guess where am I blogging most of the time? On my dinning table! I read my blog, do my paperwork here. Now, my files and pieces of papers are pilling up and some are seen flying everywhere. It really makes my house looks messy and so horrible especially when I have visitors.

Worst still, I even blog on the floor in my room at night!

Ever since I got my laptop, I have been bugging my dearest to clear one of our rooms so that we can set up a proper home office in there. Oh dear, how I wish for some blogging peace!

Monetise Blog

Can bloggers make a living by just monetise their blog?

There are, but certainly there is no free meal in the world. Many sacrifice their time to popularise their blogs, many spend time to draw crowds by blog hopping, and some spend time to learn everything it takes about blogging. But the truth, how many are really making good money on blogging?

I may not be the best blogger in the world, but I do admit that my current blogging income is up to my expectation. How about you then?

One Blog or More Blogs

I always come across lots of bloggers, who are really BLOGGERS by professional, where they own many blogs. For example, they have blog on cooking tips, rants on daily parenting, about technology, about ANYTHING in the world. In fact, recently I heard of one blogger who achieved a PR6 for his blog within just 6 months blogging and sold it for $10K.

Can I be one of them today? One Talk or More Talk?

The Art of Scrapbooking

Online Scrapbooking is really time consuming, for yesterday whole day, I have been playing with it and did nothing else. But can really get addicted one…haha…..with the pasting of the designs, combining on the different background, color, working with special effects on the photos…haha….so shiok one lar….if wanna venture further, can even try to mix match with the combinations from different download……

But of course, my skills get better each time when I scrap. The online thing is that I need to scrap in peace, otherwise no ideas will come out from my head.

FireFox Or IE

Ever since i got started blog hopping, i find lots of my time got wasted with waiting for pages to move. Not only I had problem waiting for sites to load, which is very very slow, i can’t open other site as well as my whole computer got hang. Not sure if u all face this problem like me.

Another culprit i suspect is my Microsoft Office. I got the latest version, with those very nice updated buttons instead of scroll down menu, but each time i open one file, it is like taking ages to open…really so mad at those new tech liao… Am thinking to reinstall the older version , since many people can’t seem to open the file i send to them also.

Blogger or Wordpress

I am still wondering at the moment, should I bring privatise this blog by doing my own hosting. I can either have my own hosting on blogger or pay for one, migrating De'Talk using the Wordpress plateform.

If were to compare these two, I prefer the interface of Wordpress as there are more flexibility on blog management. On the other hand, I prefer Blogger for the less trouble on upgrading, managing it from time to time. Should I, use Blogger or Wordpress? Will wait and see how it goes. For the time being, De'Talk shall remains here.

RSS Feed

Previously I spend lots of time hopping around blogs by opening the blogs that I wanna catch up with, one by one. It was only when I was hopping to to some other sites, i found this thing called googlereader, a type of RSS feed.

By adding blogs that I enjoy reading, it is easier to read only the updated blog of all the blogs I add into my feeder. Really saves time on blog hopping.

The Art of Meditation

I was reading this book, Ancient Tool for Personal Transformation by Dr.Tim Ong, my meditator guide. I have been learning how to meditate, aware that meditation can bring benefits to one (Will go into types of meditation more details later).

In this article, what catches my attention is how our brain waves are like. Of course, the researchers has found that regular meditator has more frequent brain waves in Alpha range as compare to non-meditators. Notice some people tends to be the calmer type, some tends to get angry easily, and here, it explains exactly what kind of our brain waves are like. So what are yours like ?
